Options
Everything you can configure per campaign: inboxes, campaign setup, lead filters, sending schedule, and AI campaign management.
The Options tab controls one specific campaign. Use it when you want to change who gets booked meetings, when emails send, which inboxes are attached, or how much autonomy the agent has on this campaign.
Most defaults are fine for a first campaign. You usually come back here only when you want to change something specific.
If you have not saved campaign-specific settings yet, the page may show your workspace defaults from Settings > Cold Email Agent. Once you save Options, this campaign has its own settings and those campaign settings win.
What's on the Options tab
The current page is organized into these sections:
| Section | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Email accounts | Which inboxes send this campaign. |
| Campaign configuration | Campaign type, assigned salesperson, CRM pipeline, and start/end dates. |
| Lead search filters | The AI lead-search targeting saved for this campaign, if AI Lead Search was used. |
| Sending schedule | Days, time window, and timezone for this campaign. |
| Cold Email Agent | AI campaign management, speed, action modes, approvals, and campaign-specific thresholds. |
Save after changing anything. The sticky footer shows Unsaved changes, Discard, and Save settings.
Email accounts
This section shows the inboxes attached to the campaign. These are the accounts the campaign sends from.
Use Add or remove accounts when you want to change the sending pool. The campaign can only send when it has eligible active inboxes attached.
Campaign configuration
This section controls the campaign's core setup.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Campaign type | The angle or method this campaign uses, such as Podcast, Interview, Workshop, Masterclass, AI Business Audit, Direct, Other, or Lead Magnet. |
| Assigned salesperson | The person who gets booked meetings from this campaign. |
| CRM pipeline | Where campaign replies or opportunities should be routed, if CRM routing is configured. |
| Start / end dates | The campaign's date window. |
Campaign type affects the context the campaign uses for future sequence generation. Changing it after launch does not rewrite emails already created. You would usually change it only during setup before launch.
Selecting Lead Magnet turns the campaign into one that shares a resource with interested prospects instead of booking a call. See Lead Magnet campaigns for how that works.
See Email methods for help picking the right campaign type.
Assigned salesperson controls calendar routing for booked meetings from this campaign. One campaign has one assigned salesperson. Pick a workspace member, or choose No salesperson (use default) to fall back to your workspace-level default.
If one client has multiple sales reps, use separate campaigns for the reps or ICPs they own. For example, Rep A can be assigned to the campaign for ICP A, and Rep B can be assigned to the campaign for ICP B.
Lead search filters
If the campaign used AI Lead Search, the saved targeting appears here. This can include things like industry, job titles, locations, headcount, keywords, and exclusions.
Changing these filters does not rewrite the leads already inside the campaign. It affects future lead searches or agent actions that need lead-source context.
Sending schedule
The sending schedule controls when emails are allowed to send:
- Time range: the daily send window, such as 8am-5pm.
- Timezone: the timezone used for the schedule.
- Days: the days emails are allowed to send.
Outside this window, sending pauses automatically. Queued emails inside a window still complete.
Active does not mean "sending this second." A campaign only sends when the campaign is Active, the current time is inside its schedule, and the attached inboxes are healthy enough to send.
Cold Email Agent section
This is where you control AI campaign management for this campaign.
The Cold Email Agent is the whole outreach product. AI campaign management is the specific agent behavior that reviews campaign performance and can recommend or run campaign changes.
AI campaign management
Use the master switch, speed preset, action modes, and approval-expiry setting to override the workspace defaults for this campaign.
| Action | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Optimize email variants | Disable underperforming email variants so future sends go through the stronger versions. |
| Add more leads | Find and add more prospects when a campaign is performing well or needs more volume. This can spend lead credits. |
| Start new campaigns | Create a new campaign when the current campaign is not working, has run out of room, or has a winning angle worth expanding. |
| Pause underperforming campaigns | Allow the current campaign to be paused when the agent also has an enabled replacement-campaign action. The agent does not pause a campaign by itself. |
We recommend setting Optimize email variants to Run automatically, and keeping Add more leads, Start new campaigns, and Pause underperforming campaigns on Ask first until you trust how the agent behaves.
The Pause underperforming campaigns setting applies only when the agent also has an enabled replacement-campaign action. The agent does not pause a campaign by itself.
See AI Agent for action-mode definitions, recommended setup, what the agent reviews, and how approvals work.
Custom thresholds
Choose Custom speed if you need to edit the numbers directly.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Minimum Threshold | Fewest emails per variant before the agent can judge it. |
| Base Threshold | Ideal emails per variant for a confident decision. |
| Healthy positive reply rate | Minimum positive reply rate for the campaign or variant to be treated as healthy. |
| Winner positive reply rate | Positive reply rate that marks a variant as a clear winner. |
| Booked call target | Target share of positive replies that should become booked calls. |
Most users should leave these alone and use Balanced. Edit them only when you have enough campaign history to know the defaults do not fit your audience.
These are automation thresholds, not universal benchmarks. Direct and AI Business Audit campaigns can be healthy below 1%, so compare the campaign to the method benchmarks in Best practices before changing thresholds or disabling variants manually.
Turning the agent on for an existing campaign
- Open the campaign.
- Click Options.
- Scroll to Cold Email Agent.
- Turn on AI campaign management.
- Choose the speed preset.
- Set each action to Run automatically, Ask first, or Off.
- Click Save settings.
Turning it on for future campaigns
Use Settings > Cold Email Agent to set workspace defaults for future campaigns.
This only affects campaigns created after you change the default. Existing campaigns keep their current setup until you open the campaign, go to Options, and save a new campaign-specific setup.
You'll know Options are set correctly when
- The campaign sends during the hours you expect. Check the Analytics trend chart; activity should cluster in your configured hours.
- The right salesperson receives booked meetings from this campaign.
- The agent's AI Agent timeline matches the autonomy you chose.
- Actions set to Run automatically appear in Actions Successfully Taken when the campaign qualifies.
- Actions set to Ask first create approvals instead of running immediately.
- Actions set to Off do not run or create approvals.
If something's not right
The campaign isn't sending even though it's Active
Check these in order:
- Sending schedule: is the current time inside the configured window? If not, wait until the window opens.
- Sending inboxes: which inboxes are attached? Are they Active and healthy? See Email Accounts.
- Attention Needed banner: is there a banner at the top of the campaign detail? If yes, follow the specific fix shown there.
The agent is not doing anything
AI campaign management may be off, the action may be set to Off, the campaign may not have enough send volume yet, or a cooldown may still be active from a previous decision.
The agent reviews active campaigns roughly once per day when they are eligible. It is not live minute-by-minute monitoring.
The agent is asking when I expected it to run
That action is set to Ask first. Change it to Run automatically only if you are comfortable letting that action happen without review.
The agent is running without asking
That action is set to Run automatically. Change it to Ask first or Off.
I want to change the salesperson for a booked meeting that's already on the calendar
You cannot retroactively change where a specific meeting goes; it is on the old salesperson's calendar. Change the assigned salesperson now so all future bookings go to the new person, and manually reassign the already-booked meeting in your calendar tool.
Bounce protection paused my campaign
Bounce protection is a safety net; it paused the campaign because the bounce rate got too high. Do not just resume. Diagnose first, then act:
| Bounce rate | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Under 3% | Safe, a normal range for a healthy list. | Nothing. If the campaign paused below this, it was an unrelated trigger. |
| 3% to 5% | List quality is starting to slip. | Re-verify the lead list with an email verification service or the platform's email-verification toggle on re-import. Then resume. |
| Over 5% | Copy may be getting flagged as spam, or the list has too many unverified addresses. | Re-verify the lead list and check your sequence copy for spam-trigger words and risky links. Then resume. |
See Where is the bounce protection toggle for the toggle's location and full behavior.
