Where to find the bounce protection toggle for a paused campaign.
There is no on/off toggle for bounce protection in the UI. It's a safety mechanism that runs automatically across every campaign — once your bounce rate gets too high, the campaign's status flips to campaign_bounce_protect and sending stops until you fix the root cause.
You resolve a bounce-protect pause by cleaning the lead list, not by overriding the protection.
What triggered the pause
When you see a paused campaign with the bounce-protect status, it's because bounces exceeded the deliverability threshold. Leaving it unpaused would actively damage your sender reputation — Gmail and Outlook would start flagging your domain as spammy across every campaign using it.
The tooltip in the UI says it plainly:
Campaign has been paused due to too many bounces in order to protect your domain and inbox reputation. High bounce rates are caused by lead lists not being verified properly, email copy being blocked due to spam phrases, or email security providers blocking your email. Try re-verifying your list and changing your email copy.
How to fix a bounce-protected campaign
- Open the campaign → Leads tab.
- Check the Bounce Rate metric — if it's above 3%, the list has a quality problem.
- Export the leads with the bounce filter to see exactly which ones failed: filter
hasBounced = true→ Export CSV. - Address the cause:
- List quality issue → run remaining leads through an email verification service (ZeroBounce, NeverBounce, etc.) before resuming.
- Email copy issue → review for spam trigger phrases in the subject and body.
- Sender reputation issue → pause this campaign, warm the inbox separately, and only resume once deliverability has recovered.
- Remove the bounced leads from the active set (delete them or filter them out).
- Resume the campaign via the Resume campaign button in the campaign header.
What "safe" bounce rates look like

Don't try to route around the protection
Every workaround that lets you keep sending through high bounces ends the same way: your inbox gets flagged, every campaign on that domain starts landing in spam, and recovery takes weeks. The protection exists because it's cheaper to fix the list than to rebuild sender reputation.
