Publish Your Website
Make a selected website version live and understand publishing states.
Publishing makes a selected version of your website available as a live site.
Think of AI Website Builder like a workspace with drafts. Editing creates drafts. Publishing chooses which draft visitors can actually open.
Before You Publish
Check:
- The selected version is the one you want live.
- Desktop, tablet, and phone views look good.
- Buttons and links go where they should.
- Forms, embeds, and contact details are correct.
- Generated claims are accurate.
Publish A Version
- Select the version: Use the version dropdown and choose the version you want to make live.
- Click Publish: The publish button starts the live update.
- Wait for publishing to finish: You may see a publishing or deploying state while the site updates.
- Open the live URL: When publishing is finished, open the live link and check it like a visitor.
Publishing A Newer Edit
If you edit the website after publishing, those edits are not automatically live. Publish the newer version when you are ready.
This is useful. It means you can safely keep working on a draft without changing what visitors see.
If Publishing Fails
Try this:
- Check whether the selected version has a build error.
- Use Fix with AI if it is available.
- Ask chat to repair the build without changing the design.
- Try publishing again.
If it still fails, contact support with the website name and the error shown.
Connected domain showing 404?
A connected custom domain only serves pages after a publish has succeeded. If your domain shows as connected but returns a 404, finish a successful publish first. See My domain shows Connected but the site shows 404.
