Who receives AI SDR escalation and booking notification emails?
Escalation emails go to the workspace owner; the Assigned Call Handler and salesperson only affect meeting handling.
When the AI SDR needs your attention, it sends notification emails. Which inbox receives them depends on the type of notification.
Escalation notification emails go to the workspace owner
When a thread is escalated (moved to Needs Attention — for example a "Not Interested" reply or a question the AI can't answer), the escalation notification email is sent to the workspace owner's email address.
This is the intended behavior: there is no setting to send escalation notifications to a different person or address. If the owner's email is owner@example.com, that's where every escalation alert lands, no matter who handles the campaign.
Call Handler and Salesperson do not change escalation notifications
The Assigned Call Handler (Settings → AI SDR Agent) and a campaign's Assigned Salesperson only control who handles booked meetings and whose calendar they land on. They do not change who receives escalation notification emails — those always go to the workspace owner.
Booking notification emails go to the meeting's owner
When the AI SDR books a call, the booking notification goes to the person whose calendar the meeting is placed on:
| Meeting is booked on... | Who gets the booking notification |
|---|---|
| A campaign with an Assigned Salesperson who has a connected calendar | That salesperson |
| No campaign salesperson (or no connected calendar) | The workspace Assigned Call Handler |
So booking notifications follow your call routing, but escalation notifications do not.
Why changing the Call Handler or Salesperson didn't redirect your emails
A common surprise: you set a specific person as both the Assigned Call Handler and the campaign Assigned Salesperson, but escalation emails still arrive in the owner's inbox. That's expected — those settings route booked meetings, not escalation alerts. Escalation alerts are always sent to the workspace owner.
How to send escalation emails to a specific person
A per-recipient notification setting is not available yet. Until it ships, the only way to have escalation notification emails go to a specific person is to make that person the workspace owner (transfer ownership from Settings → Members).
