Why can my client workspace member see my personal workspace?
This typically happens when the same email address is used across multiple workspaces.
This happens when the same email address has access to multiple workspaces. The workspace switcher at the top-left of the sidebar shows every workspace the logged-in user is a member of — so if a client's email was accidentally invited to your personal workspace, it'll show up there for them too.
To remove the client member from your personal workspace:
- Open the workspace switcher in the top-left corner and select your personal workspace
- Go to Settings → Members
- Find the client member in the Active Members tab
- Click the three-dot menu at the end of their row
- Click Remove member (with the trash icon) and confirm
The client will immediately lose access to your personal workspace but keep access to their intended workspace.
Best practices to avoid this:
- Use separate email addresses for personal and client workspaces
- Always double-check which workspace you're in before inviting members (shown in the top-left corner)
- Review the Members page regularly to ensure only intended users have access
If you need the same person in multiple workspaces, consider using email aliases (like user+personal@example.com and user+client@example.com) to keep workspace access clearly separated.
