COLD EMAIL AGENT · FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS · LEAD SEARCH

How do I get niche/hard-to-find emails when the built-in scraper can't find them?

Source niche contacts externally, verify the emails, then import them through the campaign Leads tab.

For niche or hard-to-find contacts that the built-in lead scraper doesn't cover, source the list externally and upload it to the campaign as a CSV.

The built-in scraper is best for broad B2B searches. For narrow lists like superyacht captains, specialist association members, conference attendees, or private directory contacts, you may need a manual source.

External lead sources

Common sources for niche contacts:

  • Apollo.io — useful for broader B2B searches
  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator — useful for manual list building
  • Hunter.io — useful when you know the company domain
  • Industry-specific directories
  • Industry association member lists
  • Conference attendee lists

Upload external leads

Once the list is ready:

  1. Format it as a .csv file.
  2. Include at least Name (or separate first and last name columns), Email, and Industry. Add Company if you have it.
  3. Open the campaign in Cold Email Agent.
  4. Go to the Leads tab.
  5. Click Import Leads.
  6. Map the CSV columns to the right Acquisity fields.
  7. Review the preview, then import.

If you're still creating the campaign, choose Upload Your Own on the Select Your Leads step instead. That opens the same CSV import flow inside the campaign wizard.

Verify externally sourced emails before uploading. CSV uploads do not cost lead credits, but a bad list can still hurt deliverability. If the list came from a third-party source, run it through an email verification tool before it reaches your campaign.
