Why is my new campaign sending so few emails?
Low day-one volume is normal. Sending settles at its steady level within the first week.
Low volume in the first day or two of a brand-new campaign is expected behavior, not a fault — even when every attached inbox shows Active, a green flame, and a healthy score. Most campaigns reach their steady daily volume within the first week.
What full volume looks like
Each inbox sends up to roughly 35 campaign emails per day. The platform sets this cap for you, and it isn't user-adjustable. So a campaign's daily volume is roughly:
number of inboxes × up to 35 emails/day
That math only holds if this campaign is the only active campaign using those inboxes. The platform splits each inbox's daily capacity evenly across every active campaign sharing it, so two campaigns on the same inboxes each get half.
Why the first days are lower
- Launch timing. A campaign launched mid-day starts inside its sending window and only uses what's left of that day.
- Leads import in batches. Sending starts while your lead list is still filling in.
- Recently warmed done-for-you inboxes ramp gradually. DFY inboxes fresh out of their initial 2-week warmup increase their volume step by step rather than jumping to the cap. Inbox providers like Gmail and Outlook watch for sudden volume spikes, and a fresh sender that jumps straight to maximum looks like spam. This protects the reputation warmup built, and there is no setting to skip it.
How to tell a healthy start from a real problem
Open the campaign's Analytics tab and look at the daily sends over the first few days:
- Healthy — the daily count is small but increasing (a few dozen the first day, noticeably more the next). Nothing to fix; let it climb.
- Possible problem — sends are flat at zero or stopped entirely after some initial activity. That's not normal early behavior. Work through Why did my campaign stall? — check for a paused campaign, an Attention Needed status, sending-hours windows, or errored inboxes.
Also remember that campaigns only send during their configured sending schedule (weekdays, business hours by default) — a quiet weekend is not a stall.
