Why can't I send emails from a completed campaign?

Why can't I send emails from a completed campaign, and what to check next.

Once a campaign reaches Completed status, every lead in the campaign has received the full email sequence. Sending stops automatically because there are no more emails queued.

A completed campaign isn't locked — the Resume campaign button is available in the campaign header. But resuming doesn't re-send the same emails to the same leads. It reopens the campaign so that new leads you add will go through the sequence from step 1.

Options to keep emailing after a campaign completes

GoalWhat to do
Send to new leads with the same offerClick Resume campaign in the header → add a fresh lead batch via Leads → Import Leads or Add Leads → Lead Database.
Re-pitch the same leads with a new angleCreate a new campaign with different sequence copy and upload the lead list. Dedupe is workspace-wide, so leads already in another active campaign are skipped.
Target a similar audienceDuplicate the completed campaign (three-dot menu → Duplicate Campaign) and scrape a fresh lead set.

Why the same lead doesn't get the same sequence twice

Even on a resumed campaign, the platform tracks which step each lead last received. It won't re-send the same email to the same person. That's deliberate — re-sending identical messages is a deliverability risk and looks like spam to mail providers.

If your campaign is stuck in Active despite appearing done

A campaign stays Active until the last lead finishes the sequence. Check the Leads tab:

  • Leads still In progress are receiving follow-ups.
  • Leads marked Completed have finished the sequence.
  • Leads that Bounced, Replied, or Unsubscribed also end the sequence for that lead.
  • Once every lead has ended its sequence one way or another, the campaign transitions to Completed automatically.
