How do I cap per-inbox email volume across campaigns?

Managing per-inbox sending volume across multiple campaigns is important for deliverability: 1.

Managing per-inbox email volume across multiple campaigns requires understanding how the platform's sending limits work and how campaigns share inboxes.

How Inbox Limits Work Across Campaigns

Each email account has a daily sending limit that applies across all campaigns using that inbox. You can see this limit in the Email Accounts table.

  1. Go to Cold Email Agent in the left sidebar (under Marketing)
  2. Click Email Accounts at the top of the page
  3. Look at the Emails Sent column - it shows "X of Y" where Y is today's platform-set limit, never above 35

This counter tracks total emails sent from that inbox across ALL active campaigns, not per campaign.

Checking Limits

To view an inbox's daily limit:

  1. Click on any email account row in the table to open its settings panel
  2. The current daily limit is shown in the Emails Sent column
  3. The platform sets this automatically; there is no user-facing control for raising it
  4. The maximum is 35 campaign emails per inbox per day

Best Practices for Multi-Campaign Sending

When multiple campaigns share the same inbox:

  • Total daily sends across all campaigns count toward the inbox limit - if Campaign A wants 25 emails and Campaign B wants 20 emails from the same inbox, that's 45 total, so the platform throttles sends to stay at or below 35
  • Keep total sends at or below 35 emails per inbox per day; the platform enforces this hard cap
  • Don't assign one inbox to more than 2-3 active campaigns to avoid hitting limits
  • Monitor the Emails Sent column regularly to track usage

Spreading Volume Across Inboxes

To distribute sending volume:

  1. Use multiple email accounts per campaign
  2. When creating a campaign, select multiple accounts on the final Select email accounts screen - the system automatically rotates sending between them
  3. Add more accounts as needed: click Add New Inboxes in the Email Accounts page

The platform automatically manages distribution when you assign multiple accounts to a campaign, preventing any single inbox from being overloaded.

The platform genuinely does manage this automatically: an Inngest job (process-daily-email-sent) recalculates per-inbox caps whenever a campaign changes, a new inbox is added, or settings update — so adding/removing campaigns rebalances automatically.
