SALES CALL ANALYZER · FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Should I use Fathom or Fireflies recordings?

When to use Fathom or Fireflies recordings and what to choose.

Sales Call Analyzer doesn't care which recording tool you used. It only cares about input quality.

The practical question is: upload the file or paste the transcript? Pick the one that's cleaner.

Quick rule

If you have…Do this
A clean audio/video file with little background noiseUpload the file. The analyzer transcribes it itself.
A messy recording but Fathom/Fireflies produced a good transcriptPaste the transcript. Aim for 600+ words.
Both look goodUpload the file — it gives the AI tone and pacing cues on top of the words.
Both look badRe-record if it's a recurring meeting. A bad input gives a bad analysis.

Why tool choice doesn't matter much

Fathom, Fireflies, Otter, Grain, and Zoom's own transcripts all produce comparable output. The quality differences between them are real but smaller than the quality difference between a good-audio call and a poor-audio one. The analyzer uses whichever source you hand it.

Recording ethics still apply

Whichever tool you use, make sure prospects know the call is being recorded — a soft "I'm recording this for my notes, is that OK?" at the top of the call covers you and keeps the trust on your side.
