COLD EMAIL AGENT · CONCEPTS

Overview

Seven concepts worth understanding once so the rest of the Cold Email Agent docs make sense. Methods, personalization, variants, deliverability, campaign states, lead states, and credits.

Most of the Cold Email Agent docs explain specific screens and buttons. This section is different — it explains the ideas the product is built on.

Reading these once makes every other doc easier. You'll see why decisions are made the way they are, and why certain settings matter more than they look.

Why these are here and not inside individual screen docs

These concepts show up on many different screens. If we explained "what variants are" inside the Sequences tab's docs, then the Analytics tab's docs, then the Options tab's docs, we'd say the same thing three times and miss anyone who landed on a different page first.

Putting them here means:

  • One explanation, one home. When we improve the explanation, every page that references it benefits automatically.
  • Searchable. If you search for "warmup" or "bounce rate" or "variant", you land on the concept page that defines it, not scattered mentions across different tabs.
  • Learning-before-doing. If you read the concept first, the screens that use it make immediate sense.

Suggested reading order

If you're brand new, read them in this order:

  1. Campaign states — so you recognise what your campaign's status means the first time you see "Attention Needed."
  2. Deliverability — so you understand why warmup, bounce rates, and sender reputation are a big deal.
  3. Email methods — to pick the right angle for your first campaign.
  4. Personalization — so your emails feel individual, not mass-mail.
  5. Lead lifecycle — so you can read the Leads tab and know what each status means.
  6. Credits — before you run your first AI lead search.
  7. Variants and A/B testing — once you've run a campaign or two and want to optimise.

Each takes about 5 minutes to read.
