Why is the AI SDR booking 30-minute events when I set it to 15 minutes?

Why is the AI SDR booking 30-minute events when I set it to 15 minutes, and what to check next.

AI SDR bookings use the meeting duration configured in Acquisity for the call type being booked. The connected Google or Outlook calendar receives an event with explicit start and end times from Acquisity.

If meetings are being booked for 30 minutes when you expected 15 minutes, check the call type or meeting setup in Acquisity first.

What to check first

  1. Open the workspace that owns the campaign.
  2. Go to the AI SDR or scheduling settings for the assigned salesperson.
  3. Check the call type or meeting type the AI SDR is booking.
  4. Confirm the duration is set to the length you want, such as 15 minutes.
  5. Save the setting, then test with a new booking.

Existing calendar events do not retroactively change. Only new bookings use the updated duration.

Why changing Google or Outlook may not fix it

Google Calendar or Outlook may have their own default event length, but AI SDR bookings are created with the duration Acquisity sends. Changing the calendar's default event length will not override a duration already set by Acquisity.

Buffers are different from duration

Meeting buffers in Settings → Availability stop calls being booked too close together. They do not change the event length. If the event itself is too long or too short, change the call type or meeting type duration in Acquisity.

If you're using a static meeting link (Settings → Conferencing → Meeting Link Type → Static), and the link itself is a Calendly URL or another scheduler with its own duration, that scheduler can create confusion. Make sure the external link is not locked to a different duration.

If changes don't stick

  1. Confirm the campaign is assigned to the salesperson whose settings you edited.
  2. Confirm you changed the right call type or meeting type.
  3. Confirm the connected calendar account is the one shown in Settings → Email & Calendar.
  4. If bookings keep coming through at the wrong length after those checks, contact support with an example event URL.
