The AI Consultant is giving me generic answers — how do I get specific help?

What to do when the AI Consultant is giving me generic answers — how do I get specific help.

The quality of the answer depends heavily on what you give it. The AI Consultant can use available platform context, but for anything specific you should put the exact numbers, copy, or notes in the chat directly.

Three things that transform generic answers into useful ones

1. Paste your actual numbers.

Instead of: "How do I improve my reply rate?"

Try: "My campaign has sent 1,200 emails, 42% open rate, 0.8% positive reply rate. Niche is B2B SaaS founders. Here's the first email: [paste copy]. What's the biggest thing to change?"

2. Describe what you've already tried.

The AI may have some platform and chat context, but it does not reliably know every experiment, campaign change, or sales-call detail. Include what you've tested so it doesn't suggest things you already ruled out.

3. Ask for the reasoning.

If an answer doesn't make sense, ask "why did you suggest that?" The AI walks through its logic and you can spot where it's making bad assumptions.

4. Switch modes when needed.

Use Market Researcher for market questions, Jacob AI for ad copy and angles, and Tech Wiz for automation or workflow questions.

When to iterate vs. start over

  • Iterate if the answer is close but not quite right — push back with specifics
  • Start over if the answer is way off — usually means the original question lacked context. Rephrase with more detail.
