I changed my email and now I can't log in?
What to check when you changed your email and now can't log in.
Your login email only changes after you complete an email change inside Acquisity and confirm it from both inboxes. Changing your email somewhere else — your primary Google account, your work address, a forwarding rule — does not change your Acquisity login.
Until the change is fully confirmed, keep logging in with your current email.
How to change your login email
You can change your own login email from your account settings:
- Click your workspace name in the top-left corner, then click Settings.
- Click Profile in the left menu under "Personal".
- Find the "Update your Email" card, type your new address in the "New Email" field, and click Update Email Address.
- Open your current email inbox and click the confirmation link.
- Open your new email inbox and click the verification link that arrives there.
Once both steps are done, log in with your new email from then on.
Which email do I log in with?
| What actually happened | What to do |
|---|---|
| You started an email change but have not clicked both links yet | Log in with your current email, then finish the confirmation steps. |
| You clicked both links and the change was confirmed | Log in with the new email. |
| You set up a forwarding rule so mail from old@ goes to new@ | Log in with old@ — forwarding changes where mail lands, not your account identity. |
| You updated your primary email on Google/Gmail | Log in with old@ — Acquisity doesn't track Google account changes. |
| You changed roles at work and got a new email | Log in with old@, then change your email from Settings → Profile while you still have access to the old inbox. |
The confirmation or verification link is not working
- Check the spam or junk folder in both your current and new inboxes.
- Make sure you clicked the link in your current inbox first — the verification email only goes to your new address after that.
- The links only work for about 10 minutes. If a link has expired, go back to Settings → Profile and submit the change again.
- If the confirmation email never arrives in your current inbox and it isn't in spam, the new address may already belong to another account. Try a different address or contact support.
- If you see a message that the new email is already in use, that address belongs to another account — use a different address or contact support.
If you don't have access to your current email anymore
Start a chat with support from the sign-in page. If you're already in the app, use Feedback in the bottom-left sidebar (if you see it). Include:
- The old email (what the account was created with)
- The new email (what you want it updated to)
- Proof you own the account — the payment receipt, workspace name, or a recent invoice ID works
Why both inboxes have to confirm
The confirmation link goes to your current inbox so nobody can redirect your account without your approval, and the verification link goes to the new inbox to prove that address is really yours. This two-step check is a security feature.
