I sent 1000+ emails and got zero replies — what's wrong?
Almost always a deliverability problem, not a content one. Here's how to diagnose and fix it.
Sending thousands of emails and seeing zero replies almost always means your emails are landing in spam, not that your message is bad. Real bad copy still gets at least a handful of replies out of 1,000 sends. Zero replies means the recipients never saw the email.
Fixing this means diagnosing where deliverability is breaking down.
Start here — the quick checks
1. Check the bounce rate on your Analytics tab
Open the campaign, go to Analytics, and look at the Replies card — the platform reports bounces near this metric or on the Leads tab.
- Bounce rate under 3% — your list is fine. Keep investigating.
- Bounce rate 3–5% — marginal. Could be contributing to reputation damage.
- Bounce rate over 5% — this is your problem. A bad list destroys sender reputation fast, which pushes your real emails to spam.
If bounce rate is high, stop sending from this campaign, clean the list (re-verify emails), and try again.
2. Check inbox health scores
Go to Email Accounts. Look at the Health Score column on every inbox sending from this campaign.
- All inboxes above 80% — reputation is fine. Look elsewhere.
- Any inbox below 80% — that inbox's emails are likely hitting spam. Pause it from the campaign. See Warmup and Health & troubleshooting.
3. Check inbox status and authentication
Go to Cold Email Agent → Email Accounts and check every inbox sending from the campaign.
If any row shows Error, click it and use Reconnect. If the inbox rows look healthy but a deliverability warning mentions SPF/DKIM/DMARC, use Feedback in the sidebar or contact support with the domain name so they can inspect the managed setup.
4. Send a test email to yourself
Use a personal Gmail address. Send a single email from your campaign's inbox to yourself, manually. Check:
- Did it land in your Inbox, or in Spam?
- Did it arrive at all?
If it landed in your spam folder, any prospect would get the same result. Start the deliverability playbook.
If those all look fine
Then the issue might be the list itself, the copy, or the timing:
- Is the list relevant? A perfect deliverability setup won't save emails that go to people with no interest in your offer. Re-check your targeting filters.
- Is the copy generic? Cold emails that sound like mass-mail get ignored even when they reach the inbox. Review your Step 1 opening.
- Is the send volume too high for the audience? C-suite executives get hundreds of cold emails a week. Lower volume and tighter targeting often beat higher volume.
