Google is blocking sign-in when connecting my Email & Calendar?

What to do when Google prevents you from signing in while connecting your Google account in Email & Calendar settings.

When you click Connect under Email & Calendar in your account settings, Google may block the sign-in attempt. You will see errors like "Couldn't sign you in", "This sign-in was blocked", or a message saying "someone is already using" the account.

These errors come from Google's own security measures, not from Acquisity. Google flags sign-in attempts it considers unusual — a new device, a different network, or a recently created account can all trigger this.

Why Google blocks the sign-in

ReasonWhat it looks like
Suspicious activity detectedGoogle thinks the sign-in is unusual because of the device, browser, or location.
New Google Workspace accountAccounts created during onboarding are sometimes flagged because they have no sign-in history yet.
Verification phone number inaccessibleGoogle asks for a phone verification you cannot complete — the number was set by someone else or is no longer active.
Different device or networkYou are signing in from a device or network that Google has not seen before for this account.

Steps to try

  1. Sign in to Google directly first. Open accounts.google.com in your browser and sign in to the Google account before connecting it in Acquisity. This establishes a trusted session.
  2. Use the same device and network. If the Google Workspace account was created on a different computer or network, try connecting from that original device.
  3. Wait and retry. Google sometimes lifts the block after 24 to 48 hours. Try connecting again the next day.
  4. Use Google's account recovery flow. Go to accounts.google.com/signin/recovery and follow the prompts to verify your identity and regain access.
  5. Check for a recovery email or phone. If you set a recovery email or phone number on the account, use it to verify your identity when Google prompts you.

When to contact support

If Google continues blocking sign-in after trying the steps above, contact Acquisity support:

  1. Open Feedback in the bottom-left sidebar, or the chat bubble if it is visible.
  2. Type "human agent".
  3. Tell support:
    • The Google email address you are trying to connect
    • What error message you see
    • Whether the account was purchased during Acquisity onboarding

Support can assist with account recovery or re-provisioning a new Google Workspace account if needed.

These errors are from Google, not Acquisity

The sign-in popup and any blocking messages are controlled entirely by Google. Acquisity cannot bypass or override Google's security checks. The steps above help you resolve the issue on Google's side so the connection can succeed.
